Default How loud are LS1 fans supposed to be?

I just installed a set of LS1 fans on my truck and they are LOUD! When they are on low it is fine, but when I turn on my A/C I can barely hear myself think. Are they supposed to be that loud or could there be something wrong with one of the motors that is causing them to run louder than normal?

shouldn't be TOO loud, with my truck running you really have to listen for them. if you walk around the front of the vehicle with it running you can def hear them. try checkin the motors on the fans to see if the noise is coming from there.

Ya I can't really hear mine running even on high from inside the cab. Can't hear them at all on low even standing by the hood. They are noticeable on high, but not loud. I have heard that the replacement motors for them are cheap, but I haven't priced them myself.

you shouldn't be hearing the motor itself, just the air being moved by the fans.

Thanks for the replies. I haven't been able to listen to them again yet, but I plan on looking at them again tomorrow. They are a lot louder than my dad's stock 05 avalanche fans so maybe something is wrong with them.
