How high can you rev a basically stock 5.3?

I was thinking about bumping it up to 6000 just to make my 2nd gear last till 90 instead of 85. Because it needs all the help it can get from 85 to 100.

turn mine 6100 all the time stock valve train no problems!!! knock on wood!!

It also depends on what year model engine, I see you have an 04, thats what my brother has, an 04 extended cab z71.. I tuned his to shift at 6200 rpm. It's shift recovery into third is alot better. But me and my bro like revin stuff up! LOL... I would shift at least 6100... You wont regret it.

If you rev it past 5800 just keep an eye on the pushrods because then you risk bending them.

On the dyno with only bolt-ons and tune (no LT's), my power started dropping off after 5900.
