Default How hard is it to tune these trucks??

How hard is it to tune these trucks. Im thinking about getting LS1 edit and just tuning my truck myself when the blower and injectors get here. What do you guys think?? Is it that hard to do?? I understand how everthing works so its not like i dont know anything at all about it. thanks

it doesn't seem that hard to do.....as long as you are knowledgeable as to how the changes to the tune will translate into real world performance you should be fine

I think you can handle it, especially if you buy a wideband.

I tested out the "beta" 1.3 of Edit last week. Its supposed to let us tune in the truck on the 03s. Well, didn't work. Had to get the PCM reflashed.

Don't fret it Dennis. Its all good now.

I've got a little story for you too. Got a call today from a local speed shop needing to borrow my harness because they did the same thing. Guy at the dealership told him I had the harness and gave him my info. That truck just got heads cam and a direct port system. Best part is - they had it strapped to the dyno with the front drive shaft off!

the wideband is just a more accurate tool to measure the A/F ratios right?

I would also need autotap to see all the other numbers as well right?


The main thing that im worried about it reprogramming for the bigger injectors, but i dont know if that will be difficult or not.

Also since i am doing this i dont need to run the boost referencing FMU that comes with the blower right?
