Default How hard is it ??

I have a 99 rcsb z71 with a 5.3 and a few mods. I am going to put a 2000 6.0 in it so i was wondering what it takes and what will i need. I am going to use the hpp3, 160 therm, pulleys, shorty headers, and upd intake from the 5.3 to go on the 6.0. I am asking is there anything to look out for any troubles as i swap these out. ANY info on this will help out greatly.

The biggest problem you will have is that the 2000 model 6 liter motor will not fit properly in your truck. The 99 and 00 models have a longer crank that will not be a direct swap into your truck. That model also came with the near worthless iron heads. In 2001, the 6 liters started coming with the same crank as the rest of the motors and as an added bonus, got some very good aluminum cylinder heads.

Basically, you WANT to get a 2001 or newer motor so it will be a direct fit. If you get a 2000 or older, you will need to tear it down and have it machined.

For the other part of your question, all of the other parts off your 5.3 will be a direct swap and you should have no problems. That is also a great time to install a new torque converter, camshaft, etc...
