I could see myself in one of those trucks, I think its great that Chevy came up with something off-the-wall and not so generic like their other passenger cars. Chevy makes great trucks and sports cars, but their passenger cars are boring (Lumina, Monte, Cavalier, Impala, etc..)

Neil hit the nail on the head. It's not bad looking, but the power isn't gonna be there. Chevy always screws it up at the last minute, and they'll toss in a 5.3L. In stock form, it still won't be anything special with the 6.0L in it, but at least it will have more potential. If they're gonna kill our f-bodies, the least they could do is shoehorn in an LS1 to give it a LOT of potential and pizazz off of the showroom floor. It would really cool to see one paired up with a T-56!
Until they decide that it needs some nice power, it's just gonna be a rad looking Explorer Sport...a useless truck with no towing capabilities and nothing special under the hood.

but wouldnt that sound SOOO much better w/ an 8.1L instead of a puny little 422 just immagine, 8.1L w/ heads/cam/TURBOCHARGED i like turbochargers, they sound cool... PSHHHHH!! hehe (im pretty sure u couldnt fit a turbo setup and a 8.1L in the same 1500 style engine bay)

It all depends on which motor they decide to go with. 5.3L = Big mistake. To me, it's a pretty much useless vehicle. If I wanted a two-seater that is low to the ground that can't pull anything, I would get a C5. They will cost nearly the same anyway, because you know that dealers will mark 'em up, just like the C/E & 35th SS.

I would much rather have this:

ive read that it will be based upon the trailblazer frame. the cool brushed aluminum will turn into plastic - we know we wont come close to seeing the fiberoptic SSR lighting in the floormats. the price is going to be too high, its a new style with the 5.3 (or is it still up in the air?) nothing to me really. If it was in the ballpark of a fbod it might sell pretty good, but like said its going to be like the CE and the 35th - dealers marking it up. I did like the looks of the one i saw at the dallas car show a while back. the tire tread is pretty cool (bowties - wont see that either) will we see 20s? who knows. a t56 would be great, im sure it would sell alot better then. just a few thoughts

I'd love to have one in the driveway.
I agree, GM always to fall flat (using the stock 5.3l, etc.) Reminds me of the 454SS (no offense to current owners), but IMO a Fuel Injected 454 should have put out a lot more HP than it did in that truck.
