how cold is too cold?

You are running 11.8-1 but the density of the supercooled air is greater causing the lean condition.With this condition on a carburated setup you would encounter a icing condition that would eventually cause the motor to stall.

i am not running lean, ever. cold or hot my a/f ratio is dead nuts on. it was pasing more air when cold(and fuel of course). but wasn't much if any quicker.

Do you think the extra fuel and air is raising the compression ratio? I dont know this is just crazy. I'm affriad to drive my truck out in the cold now

I kind of see what Whitt1 is saying, even though you a/f ratio is dead on, at 10 degrees your getting into extreme low temps. The air has so much more oxygen you may need to richen it up more than what works well in normally operating temps???
