Default How can I get more trq?

any bolton's I can do that will improve the low-mid trq of my 04 Sierra 5.3 ?
I know hp comes from trq so i am not concerned with it.
my 5.3 has 330 trq at the fly and 278 at the ground bone stock in 2nd gear.
how can I get my trq to 300 rwtq or more?

its prolly gonna take that to get there

every bolton might get you there IF you're lucky, bluecajun5.3 only has 330rwhp, 330rwtq, but he's runnin a 12.5 1/4 mile in a rcsb with weight reduction

Changing the cam can get you a decent torque increase.

here's a list of the boltons that work on our trucks

cold air intake - whatever brand you want, get one with closed filter element and i suggest a dry filter -no oiling t messup the MAF

headers - get long tube and preferably equal-length primaries, get ceramic coating and/or stainless steel for durability

exhaust - make it as free-flowing as possible

tune - get a mail-order tune (nelson performance, wait4me, pcmforless.com, etc.) or even better a live dyno/street tune

efans - get some electric fans, they free up horsepower, 05-up trucks have them and they bolt right it with the combination or a 34" radiator, or retor-fit LS1 f-body fans or get an aftermarket setup

underdrive pulleys - they also free-up horsepower, and consist of an underdrive crank pulley and sometimes an overdrive alternator pulley for the alternator to work properly

gears and lsd - getting lower gears and a aftermarket lsd will make it feel much better, but wont add HP or TQ on dyno

higher stall speed torque converter - will help with take off, and i dont know awhole lot about this some one else can explain it

will probably need some tranny mods for it to hold up to your new power, servos, shift kits etc.

also some mods that are debatable on helping or not are, ported TB, TB bypass,

after this you will need to crack the engine to add cam, heads, etc. for more power without boost or spray

note: aftermarket MAF sensors dont work, neither do tornado, TB spacer

The easiest and most effective for towing is a gear change 4:11 will make a big difference, also a smaller diameter tire will increase final gear ratios.

Just about anything to free up air flow, especially exhaust
