Default how about stroke?

no funny replies now. what is the stroke of a 6.0 and an ls-1 stock crank? something like 3.84" or something isn't it?

you sound pretty sure about that. so the 4.8 is the only oddball? can you put a 4.00" crank in without any other mods?

Nope. If you change the stroke, you have to change the rods and pistons to match. Basicaly the complete rotating assembly.

You could install a 5.3 crank. rods and pistons to fit your 4.8 block.

hey tex. not the 4.8, the 6.0. i may just have to deal with the fact that i will have to keep this thing. i was talking more about having to machine the block to accomodate the additional stroke. anyone know of a kit for the 6.0's?

Hey Texas Terminator, just a suggestion, if i were you i would offer big Tex to come over to you crib along with several beers and pick his brain for knowledge in all the interchangability and maybe come up with a solution to your dilemma. He has a lot of parts you need and maybe able to come up with some sort of trade thats workable for both. His no-how might be worth alot to you.

yea, right on. i can get a new crank out of the moron i got the motor from, but that still doesn't solve my heads issue. all the parts are new, i am just exploring other avenues. the motor is already out after all.
