I just got back from the track.... It was my 1st time and though it was hot-n-humid, I still had a great time. 1st run out there I babied it off the line, no stalling it up at all and came off with a:
60' 2.46
330' 6.89
1/8 10.48 @ 68.53
1/4 16.152 @ 87.67
The best run of the night was:
60' 2.33
330' 6.70
1/8 10.25@69.34
1/4 15.81@88.98
I enjoyed it a lot... and thanx to the guys out there who gave me some good tips. I am lookin forward to cooler nights and more mods

The 3.73's w/ the factory locker and pulley's will be goin in pretty soon. How much power will I loose on the highway w/ the 3.73's? Will I notice a big difference in the low end?
thanx,

Allen, some consistent times there, good job. Oh, btw, congrats on the 14.9.....As you know, doin that in this heat, is a GOOD thing.....
It just wasn't the night for me.....My times were all over the place......
My first couple of runs didn't go to well. First, I went ahead and left 35 PSI in the tires, see how they performed. I basically got no traction, what so ever......from 500-1000 RPMs I was spinnin off the line, had to let off....I usually run at 20 psi.....after this run, I dropped it down......
Second couple of runs......during the runs, the truck was dying after about 4500 RPMs......With a highly noticable change.....You could just feel the power drop.....I wasnt even getting into second. I was running low as hell on fuel, and allen pointed out that could be the problem. Sure enough it was, went and got some gas, then came back...
Third few runs, well, the power was there, but still just wasn't right. My 60', MPH, all match up....330', 60', all a tenth or so up......which explains ofcourse, where the times I wanted were....
Overall, here's my timeslip for the night....best runs on the right
60' 2.368 (best 2.293)
330' 6.694 (best 6.419)
1/8 10.215 (best 9.804)
1/4 15.676 (best 15.165)
The heat was all definitely there, humidity as well....I am really looking forward to cooler weather....I am gonna go ahead and replace this fuel filter (it needs it anyway)..rotate these tires...(put some new plugs in....(tr6s), hopefully get some new wires, and fix a couple other issues that are bothering me.....and get my times back. I do realize in this heat, getting my winter times back won't happen, just asking for a 15.3 again......The truck will be ready to run this winter.....with a "couple" more "things" on it.....

Dino, lose the spare, tailgate, bed cover, get some decent tires(you ain't got **** left to rotate!)fuel filter and get a vette servo in there to help with the slush box shifts and I bet you are back in the 15.30s in the heat. Also run 1/4 tank. Atleast you have a locker!
Kurt, the 3.73s will be fine on the freeway and should wake it up down low, especially since you have tall tires like me. A 4.8 will notice more ET improvement with lower gearing then a 5.3 due to the lesser amount of torque at low rpms(although 5.3 ain't got **** either!) A 3000 convertor would also really help if you put some GOOD tires on it.

I knew before I bought the tonneau, that I was gonna deal with some more weight issues, but its a sacrifice I am willing to deal with. Honestly, I just want to run "as is" I should be back at 15.3s in no time Not gonna sweat it.....
