Default Hotchkis springs are on!

Well guys I got finished with my new springs about 2:00 this morning (sat). I just took my time to make sure of a good/correct job. I am pleased with them so far. My tires didn't come in fri like they were supposed to but I should get them on mon. Check out this directory for some other pics of the install and finished product.

That looks just right! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> Real nice.

Whats the total drop on your truck front/rear?

Thats what I want my project truck to look like as far as lowering goes. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Owww, my poor dial-up! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

The truck looks great! Also a very clear picture, wish my camera took pics that clear.

Suggestions: Paint the black upper bumper pewter metallic to match the bottom of the truck, and paint the bottom of the tailgate body line that color also. That way the two-tone looks "complete". Then, remove all the emblems and paint the door handles blue. The little details like that will stand out!

I still love those wheels <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

XLR8NSS: The drop is 2/4. Hotchkis sport springs. 1914F front coils and 2404 rear leafs.

graygmc: From the ground to the bottom of the reaf finder lip is roughly 32". It will be one inch lower once I get my new tires though. I currently have 275/60/18 that are being replaced with 285/50/18. Only the ext cabs need the trans spacer and carrier bearing bracket.

Nine Ball: Sorry about the big pic. I ment to change the resolution before I took the pics. I will have to resize them later. Thanks for the sugestions but I have seen the two tone on the front of the GMCs and I do not like it. I am however going to paint the plastic part of the grill and bumper cap blue leaving the chrome strip in the middle with either a blue or a billit bowtie and a billit grill insert.I am also gettin the painted Escalade handles. But it will be a while before that happens, gotta have $$$ ya know.

yeah those current tires are pretty big. did you do a before and after measurement. i think i am going to get the hotchkis springs. does it ride stiff at all. also what kind of shocks did you use? will you measure in the front for me too. so can compare. i have chassis tech drop right now. but i want a sport drop.

I love the way it rides now! It is firmer but not harsh. The rear jars a little on a big bumps but does not do the sideways shimmy afterward though. Measurements before were ~33" in the front and ~34" in the back. I measured right after the install and it was ~32" all the way around. I have not remeasured since I have given the coils time to settle though. I will probally do that tomorrow before I have my new tires put on then after the new tires.

I have and appointment tomorrow to get my tires (Yoko AVS S/T in 285/50/18) and alignment done. so I will have some new pics to post tomorrow afternoon.
I already had 2" shackles on it so that is why it only went down 2" in the back.
