Default Honest responses please: Does manually shifting my tranny cause it to die?

Well... as some of you may have gathered from my posts, my tranny has dumped on me.

The only reason I can possibly think of is because I manually shifted it.

Truck has 75k on it, I've never neutral dropped it nor have I ever powerbraked it (it doesn't have a posi, no point).

Question: does manually shifting the tranny cause it to die quickly? At about 60-70 mph, I love to downshift manually to 2nd and race Hemi's on the freeway.

Advice please!
