Default Home made air intake

Show me some pics of your home made air intakes. I know if and when I make mine, it will look trashy, but at least I'll save around $250-$300 for other parts.

On my 2000 Yukon XL I kept it as simple as I could. I bent a piece of aluminum sheetmetal, cut a hole in it big enough to fit the MAF, and screwed it to the floor that used to hold the stock air box. The MAF had 3 holes in it ready for mounting it to the sheetmetal. I used a K&N from a 5.7 L Chevy. I never got around to the dyno but I could chirp the tires a little more after the install and it sounded a little throatier. But this was back in 2000. Today you can get a sheetmetal box with a filter and all the hose clamps and connectors from ebay for 25 bucks + s&h

good idea getting rid of the filter, they are horrible. i ran the eBay kit on my truck for a few months and it let way too much stuff past. swap the filter for a quality one and it is a good bang for your buck intake.
