First off, what do you guys think about this? After reading my searches, it seems not very difficult to do. I did read about a possible problem with the drive-by-wire TBs. Anybody know if it is true?

I did mine myself. It was easy, just took a little time to get it good enough. I dont have the drive by wire though. I've heard about problems with that, but don't know

In my opinion it is not worth the time or effort for the risk/gains. You not really increasing the size of the TB......GM spent alot of time working on that TP and the shape, there has to be a reason for it

Again just my .02

is porting mine as we speak and the dyno sheets on a stock WS6 gained 8 hp. and 12 lbs. of torque so if it will do that on my truck it is worth the 65 to have it ported

Wow, those are impressive gains. I had no idea it was that good. Are these results reproducable though. There's alway error in data. I'd like to know some more on this as well!

SOTP gains aren't cutting it for me anymore, its just too psycological.

I just checked out his website, and the dyno chart shows the tests were done within 1/2hr of one another, so that rules out weather variation. What I think most of the gains comes from is the thining of the throttle shaft.

I had this done on my Holley HP carb on my car and it flowed 50cfm more. Granted its a 4-barrel with 4 throttle shafts in the way, but it shows the potential.

There could be allot to the 8rwhp gain. Maybe not weather, but an 8rwhp gain is not really measurable IMO. I want to see 20-25 rwhp from something before I will believe it is an honest gain. If you are not increasing the size the opening then there is no way it is going to gain that much. Even the 80mm BBK on a N/A motor only made 12 rwhp more....Sorry if I doubt the Ported TB theory, I just have not seen hard proof that it is worth it.
