Holy Crap!

I'm playing with anything and everything while we have my 03 silverado on the dyno and nothing is really working anymore after I come up with 250rwhp after descreening the MAF. I figured..hell..lets see how bad the accessories are dragging down the motor and pull off the belt. 266rwhp with no belt!

Not bad man! If you get bored sometime, try taking off the clutch fan but leaving the belt on and see how much that frees up. That is unless the 03 use a different clutch than the 99-02. I think someone posted a while back that it might have an electronic controlled clutch.

so if freeing up ALL the accessories by removing the belt gave 16HP howmuch is just the fan taking away. Ive heard that going to the E-fan is worth 12HP but if thats true that meens the waterpump, power steering, alternater, and A/C are taking only 4HP?!
Now on a modern fuel injected car some HP can be lost to the alternater not puting out the extra volts needed for operation.

The UPD intake is on the way. We have pulled the belt off on my formula before and it only gained 3rwhp...it had an ASP pulley already though.
Maybe if I get bored I'll pull that fan off real quick.

I have 3 buddies that have done the short belt mod on their F-bod on the dyno and gained 11-16hp from it and we have electric fans.
For my truck I bought 2 Hayden electric fans which I have yet to see dyno'd before and after but everyone that I have talked to that has done it says they felt a significant increase in power and faster revs and would rank it up there is headers for power increase. So I am gonna have em installed here soon but am trying to decide if I want to do them seperate or with my header and converter install.
