Default Which Holley HR Intake Do I Need?

Alright, so I'm getting the itch to play with my current 4.8, but I want the parts to be able to be swapped over to a LSX 454.

I'm wanting to pick up one of the new Holley Hi Ram Intakes, but not sure if my 4.8 has the LS7 style, ls3 style, or standard ls1 style heads when it comes to intakes.

My last question, has anyone fit this intake on their NNBS trucks with a stock or HD hood?

Should have stock ls1 style heads. I would think unless you plan on going turbo and lots of boost or have a big cam and huge stall that intake is going to kill alot of bottom end that a 4.8 already lacks.

Well I figure if I keep doing small things to the 4.8, it'll convince me to boost it, instead of tossing in the aforementioned lsx454, but I may just wait.

you will need the cathedral port High Ram for the 4.8 and the LS7 High Ram for the lsx454 so they won't be interchangeable. Like mentioned above that intake should be the last mod you worry about when modding the 4.8 as it will kill you in any setup other then in boost. Best thing to do in your case is to plan out exactly what you want to do and do it. You will waste a lot of money modding the 4.8 just to swap over to the 454. The 4.8 is a great motor for boost I would consider that first over the 454 unless you just want an all out crazy torque motor. I don't disagree with either one as they can both be some really nice setups. Just up to you want you want.
