Default High oil pressure???? HELP!!!

I went on 3k mile trip in my truck a couple weeks ago. Now that i'm back, I noticed today that my oil pressure is higher than it used to be. It was right at 80 at WOT before the trip. Now its its at 85 at WOT, almost all the way to the end of the meter! I also notice less power.

What has happened? Is there a problem. I had the oil changed when I got home.

HELP!!

Just check the oil level to make sure it is not overfilled. Mine has always hung around 60 psi at idle, and would peg the end of the meter at WOT.

At WOT in my dad's 04 Silvy 5.3 it would peg the 80. It read middle of the dipstick but pressure was kinda high. I wouldnt be to worried about it, if it worries you then don't put as much oil in next change.

did you say a loss in power? 85 is a bit much imo. but hey mine pegs 80 at wot. if it is at the right level then it should be ok. drive it some and see what it does.

I had that happen to me in a LT1 once and it ended up being a cam bearing that spun in its bore and partially blocked off the hole. I tried a new oil pump first since that was the easiest but then it still did it. I drove it a long time like that before we finally fixed it.

Ye I have noticed that mine will do that to at WOT. Mostly though when the engine is not quite up to operating temperature...
