o.k. ,,,,im building a 5.3 stock block ls6 cnc heads from chevrolet ,ls6 cam,headers ,all boltons ,...what torque converter should i use ????{i will be towing stuff} this is a 99 chevy 4x4 ext. cab..will i need tuning ???{i dont think so ,some say yes some say no?} any input is apriciated.....

you will definitly need tuning

that thing will tow better than most HD's powerwise

tuning, LS1EDIT...or nelson performance...tbyrne has a converter special giong on right now i believe. check those out

nelson performance is in san antonio...but i don't know about his ability to tune for cams etc. the hot cam might make more LOW end power than the LS6 cam...i don't know though. but i do know that the LS6 cam is designed for high end horsepower on a much lighter car. it's a good cam don't get me wrong, just not sure if it's the best for what you want out of it, towing etc.

you could always buy your own edit and computer to use it on, and then go to MTI in HOUSTON and see if Jayson or one of their guys will do the tuning for you on your software
