Default Hey You Programmer Types

I do the Nelson tune thing but I just went to the Predator site to see what if anything they have done to try and compete with the Nelson, Westers and PCM For Less types. It looks like they are making an effort. Lots of new perameters to fiddle with.
Can I get some of you lap top boys to look them over on their site and see if they are even getting close?

there is no way that they will be able to compete with a custom tune as nelson or even hptuners for that matter.im sure they are making an effort but i dont think that it will be the same. you will not be able to change all the things. they are still limiting the amout that you can do yourself. get hptuners and go for it or go nelson.

Is someone having a change of heart ??? I've noticed you've taken a notion to learn tuning yourself. What's up? PM me if you would rather.

I agree though ... handhelds can't hang .. period. Get HPTuners and do it yourself, or find one of our sponsers local to you that will do truck tuning and have them tune it for you. Mail order tuning is hit or miss.

can you tune on the fly with hptuners? it would be badass to drive around with a laptop mounted and watching your stats

oh no it is a nelson tune in there for sure. i am just able to tweak things my self if needed. but the tune is still nelson. least now i dont have to wait for a pcm to come in. hell i didnt find anything he hadnt changed. he has always had me running in peak performance. no change. just that hptuners is a good tuner for the do it yourselfer. but a custom tuner like nelson will get it dead on.

Default Hey Flyer - Hit Or Miss?

I have an old Predator from my 03. I do not live local to Nelson so what I will do is use the predator's live diagnostics to record what is going on and report it to him. He will then send me another with some corrections if necessary. Do you think the odds of hitting would be better this way?

What I need is advise on how to get the readings he needs. Such as, spark advance. Do I run it WOT and record what the spark reading does up to where it just about shifts? Are all the readings he would need to be taken at WOT?
I really would like to hear how to run the truck to obtain ALL the parameter readings Nelson would use to attempt dial in my tune as close as possible to being a "HIT". LT's, ST's O2's, Spark. All that stuff.
Perhaps a kind soul here could take the time to type in a procedure for me?
