Yeah I finally got to turn the back tires over on my '06. You want to know how I did it...... I was driving in the snow!!! I swear this truck has no ***** except for WOT @ higher speeds. I could light the tires up from a stop in my '98, no way this truck will do it. Does a tune help this at all??

 

tune will fix it . It's called torque management.

What they said and the 3.42 gears are really steep for launching.
+ the 06 brakes don't want to let you do a brakestand either.
I feel your pain man.
IMO these trucks with the 3.42s should have come with a TT2600 torque converter stock.
A tune will help, but the gears are really holding you back.
Highway mileage is nice though!

 

yeah, I know the gears are holding the tire-spin back, but my old truck had them. I guess I might get a tune, but I'm not sure who I would have do it.

 

where do you live? maybe someone on the forum can make a good suggestion.

Yup, best bet is a custom tune done on the Dyno/Street, next best is a mail order tune. I couldn't chirp my tires even with the 3.73s without brakestalling before tune.

 

From a dead stop with out brake stalling, i can white smoke my tires..

Oh wait thats with the all terrains. With the Toyos they chirp till ~30ish.

No TM is awesome.
