Default Hemi Rams times, 2nd time to track.

Hey former GM brothers, thought I would post this to keep you in the loop and show some times for a basically stock Hemi Ram QC since some on here ask how they do. I went up to Sacramento raceway and got four runs in, 3 time trial and one bracket race. Yeah, I lost in the first round, more about that later. It was hot, 97* with a DA of 2759 feet on my first run which was a 15.70 @ 86.48 which according to the NHRA DA calculator adjusts to a 15.18 @ 89.47.. My last run it was 84* with a DA of 2019, my run was a 15.56 @ 87.06 which adjusts to 15.20 @ 89.15.. I lost my race by maybe a bumper to about an 95 LT1 Camaro (thought you would like that). I think I ran a good race but he was better. I dialed a 15.50 and ran a 15.56 with an RT of .138, he was better though dialing a 14.00 and running a 14.03 with an RT of .128. The race was so close, I had to see which lane got the win light, good race!! I don't think my times were to bad considering the temp and I'm basically stock except for a muffler and ram-air mod using the stock intake down to a paper filter. Not many trucks were there, I talked to a guy briefly who had an 04 Silverado SS that ran 14.9-15.2 with only a custom tune from a local shop. I saw a nice lowered EC Silverado run a 16.02 but have no idea what engine or mods he had. An F150 EC with a 4.6L and at least exhaust ran a 17.05. That was it for the trucks, there were alot of ricers, SRT-4's and WRX's running along with a few Camaro's and Mustangs. Next mod I'm patiently waiting for is a Superchips programmer, the 04's are suppose to be release by mid July. I won't go back until I have the programmer and the weather is much cooler, probably November. Just thought I would keep you guys in the loop!

Sacramento is only about 100* above sea level but with the temp of 97*, Dew Point of 51* and Barametric Pressure of 29.85, the DA calculator adjusted the elevation to 2759. I've run at Sac went the DA was great, below Zero. It was that way last November at 57* when I ran my 15.24, DA was real low. However, when it gets hot, it's real bad. I've seen a DA one time when I was there of 3500 feet, it was 107*.

You nut Jim!

It was too damned hot yesterday for good times. I know, I was outside training kung-fu in this heat. LOL

I hope friday is better. There are a bunch of guys going to Test & Tune and I'm video taping them all. If it's hot it's going to suck.

Jim,
A friend of mine just bought a used qq 04 hemi and I was wondering if you knew of a way to disable the TMR on the 04. I know on the 03 and earlier it was just unpluging the #10 red wire and bam no T.M.. I know that does not work on the 04 and latter.

I have looked at a couple of dodge sites but have found zilch. I have not found any good dodge forums like ls1tech is to us. Their was talk abut holding the starter key after starting the truck in the start possition until a bell rung tried that and it did not work.

His truck is very strong if you do a full throttle acceleration but part throttle is very sluggish when comparing it to his older 02 qq 4.7 .
thanks,
Kurt

Hey Kurt! No, there is no way to disable the TMR on the 04 & 05 Hemi Rams, totally different computer system. The 03 guys have a big advantage being able to disable it by pulling a wire, I seen posts where a guy will say it reduced his 1/4 time by .3-.5 seconds, that's alot. Superchips is claiming (again!) that the tuner for 04 & 05 Hemi Rams will be out by mid July. It's suppose to disable most of the TM, let the user adjust WOT and part throttle shift points, tune for 87, 89 & 91 gas, adjust speedo for different size tires and raise top speed limiter. I can't wait!!
