Help w/ 4L80e

oh yea, you got a 4wd, i am not 100% sure this would work but they made autotrack cases for the LD2500, that would be the case to get ahold of cause i think it would just bolt/plug right in and work, that is if you have autotrack now.
if you have just the basic tcase weather it is electric or manual you would need to find a 2500case with the same electric or manual control. you do that and it will probably bolt right in. i have 2 cases here, one is an autotrack from a 1500 and the other is a HDmanual shift case, they casings are identical, the output shafts are the same. about 1/2 of the space inside the autotrack where the chain runs is taken up by the clutch pack, i think a HD case would have a wider chain.

::digs up old thread::
Sorry guys...I'm really looking into the 80 swap so I can spray the life outta my LS1. Has anyone gathered parts numbers, or made a complete list of what's needed? I've found a used NBS 2WD 80 for $1,000!
Is there a stock 80 crossmember that we could use to prevent making a "custom" piece?
So far, I can see that I need:
1) tranny
2) 80-specific flywheel *PN?
3) crank spacer *PN?
4) wiring harness adapter/programming from Speartech
5) HD 80 tranny mount *PN
6) LD tranny cooler-to-radiator lines
7) 80 front yoke (new drive shaft?)
anything else? Maybe we could get this or another thread made into a sticky?

A stock 4L80 crossmember from a RCLB or ECSB 2500LD should bolt right into the 1/2 ton frame without issues, driveshaft yokes *might* be different between the 60 and 60 on the NBS trucks (they were not on the OBS trucks)

2OO1 and earlier 6.0s have a thicker flange on the rear of the crank because they all came with a 4L80E.On later model 6.0s the flange is thinner to accomadate a 4L65E in the SS or Escalade.They came up with the spacer to accomadate the 2500 which still uses a 4L80E or for replacements for earlier 6.0s.
