Default Help on tuning issues

I have no clue about tuning. I have very limited experience with mechnical knowledge(know enough to get by with). I do know how to do the normal crap. I am thinking about just buying HPtuner vice a nelson tune or any mail order tune. All the crap that was started on here has made me rethink the tune. MTI is looking pretty promising though.

Ok now to the question, My truck is pretty much stock. Would trying my own tuning be way over my head? I know hptuner has a stock reflash you can save. So if i mess up atleast i can go back to stock.

Would you say yes or no to this? buy HPtuner and learn as I go. or do a mail order tune?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

i would do hptuner and learn as you go. it is very complicated but worth it when you start learning. they about the same cost, and you get unlimited with hptuner, it also has data logging software.

That sucks.

I will buy one tune (maybe an update or two) and I am done. For me the time and money spent on Edit ot HP Tuners is not worth it.

If you think you are capable of learning, definantly get it yourself, read up, and learn all you can. You will come out ahead if you do it that way.

Otherwise I would talk to some local guys and find a local tuner to do all the work for you.

I think I am going to get the hptuner. I figure there are enough people on here to get me on a good learning curve. I just need to learn the base lines. I figure, log my stock tune. then play around. trial by error.lol

Mail order tunes suck. I'm on number 7 or 8 right now and I'm about to ask for my money back.
