Not being smart but did you make sure the hot and remote wires on the starter aren't touching?

Try starting it in all gears in case something slipped.
Be sure to hold your foot on the brake.

Any updtae on the no crank problem? I have a 2007 NBS 2500HD with the exact same symptoms. Swapped the starter relay with others and it did nothing. Pulled the starter and cleaned all connections. Happened once when cold, and a few times after running for 20 + miles. After about 30 minutes it started. I do noticed a delay when turning the key to starter engagement. The truck only has 28K miles so I would not think the ignition switch or key would be at fault. Just ordered the Helm shop manuals to get a schmetic of the circuits.

The 2003+ do have a slight delay when turning the key compared to the 99-02s. It feels more like a start-by-wire instead of the ignition being directly connected.

I short circuited my starter wires when I installed my long tubes way back in the day and blew out one of the large fuses 3 times before I figured it out

Yours is likely something else if it is intermittent.

I think there is a half second priming delay to let the pump build pressure, but dont hold me to that...
