Default Help please

can I pull 5.3 LS LC9 with torque converter still attached to flex plate? Removed 2 of the 3 bolts, but the third has a stripped head. This is on an 07 Avalanche, so lots of other stuff underneath.

Technically yes you can, just have to get things to line up as it comes out of the transmission.

Ok, I can pull the engine with the TC still attached. I will have a floor jack under the tranny. Do I put the tranny in Park, Neutral, or does it matter? Am I going to need to rotate the crank to "line things up?"

The turbine, stator and pump all need to be lined up when installing it in a transmission, you do that to fully seat the converter on the input shaft prior to bolting the flexplate on. You may need to wiggle the converter so that it comes off the input shaft easier and you need to have your angles right when you pull the engine away from the transmission.

Park or neutral shouldn't matter.

If it's just to remove it, it shouldn't matter.

I think when an engine locks up from a broken/wedged connecting rod, this is the only way to separate the engine from transmission.

Remove engine with converter attached no problem slide it forwards.

Pull starter rotate the bolt so that it's in the area where the starter snout came out of. Beat a 15mm over the bolt then take a propane torch heat the lug on the converter for say 20 seconds then use a ratchet on socket.
If that doesn't work get a pair of vice grips on it reheat lug and try again.
That dont work take torch blow head off right where it sits then you can use vicgrips to remove the remnants once the motors out
