98 Vortec 350 4l60e to a LS
I've done this swap in my buddys truck about 12 years ago and can not remember what we used.
I got a customer that dropped off a non LS 4l60 to put in his 2002 silverado. I know it possible but for the sake of time I been searching what to do while the lift is in use. I've got about 2 weeks to get this transmission swapped.
On my buddys truck I want to say we used the vortec converter and 5.3 flexplate but had to ream out Torque converter bolt holes or something. My buddy doesn't remember either.
Help? Haha

There's a specific flex plate for that combination, but it's really expensive. Around $350? Not sure why so pricey.
Summit has them. I remember seeing them on their website a few years ago.
I think that transmission is a bit shorter too? I think they changed the torque converter or something on the LS transmission starting in the 1999 NBS.

There's this:

I think the torque converter bolt holes will still be off a bit.
I seem to recall that flex plate I was thinking about took care of the snout and bolt spacing difference. I can't find it anymore. It was a GM Performance part IIRC.
I suppose another option is to change the bellhousing and torque converter to the LS style? I think that's another option provided your transmission is the 300 mm input shaft. That's going to be a bit more pricey.

There were some other internal changes, but can't remember the exact details on the pre-LS vs LS 4L60e. I want to say maybe additional clutch plates in some drum?
What happened to the transmission that originally came with his truck?

The input shaft has the pilot on the end of it.
It was rebuilt about 12k miles ago and was running in a 98 C1500 truck with a 305.
The poor 305 lost oil pressure and he threw the engine away and bought me transmission to put in his silverado that lost 3rd and 4th.
Putting a twin turbo 4.8 in the '98 with a TH400 so just swapping parts around to keep his daily going.
