I use the HP2006 K&N for my LQ9. If I remember correctly, the 99-02 5.3s were the same filter. The "correct" filter in the book is HP1007 (K&N) however it is like half the length. To each his own I guess. I will continue to use the HP2006.

go in and ask for the vette filter from an 04, they will look twice at you and it is the longer filter, and way easy to remember...oh yea I use a mobil 1 fiter too

Just for reference, I went in to get the pf59 filter the other day and the guy said its discontinued. He looked it up and the new number/replacement is the pf46.
