Im new to the forum and wondering if anyone could shed some light. I'm SUPER disappointed and wondering if I have done something wrong vehicle is a
2001 tahoe I started building on in high school
it has a full blueprint iron lm7 bored to 3.898(5.7L) honed with tourqe plate, align honed, decked .010 flat top pistons, 10/10 crank Balanced rotating assy 317 heads minor hand port bowl clean up competition valve job milled .030 for right at 11:1 with a 218/227. 112 @523 lsx cam tbss intake 92mm tb 1 3/4 long tubes x pipe and super 10s. 36# injectors. 4l80e swap circle D hp series converter. suppose to be 3200. that i exchanged my new 60 e 2500 verter for that will not stall past 2400. Fresh built 4l80 with shift kit waffle clutches servo shift kit all new electrical ect. Fresh built transfer case Also 4.88 rear gear and 35/12.50/20 heavy wheels and tires. Tuned with hp tuners not many tuners around but he's supposed to be reputable. i also have hp tuner pro maf delete egr delete evap delete catless whole 9
Runs drive idles shifts..hard will chirp second on certain payments but is a DOG at take off and will not turn the tires over just ends up doing a brake stand and holding 2400 let off and it pulls but comes alive about 3200 like it's way to much cam. I understand this thing is HEAVY and has coilovers and large rear brakes and big heavy tires am I just expecting too much?
IMO your main problem is that even with the 4.88s the 4l80 first gear is awful and those 35/12.5/20s are really heavy. Mine is difficult to get to do a burnout and I'm on 31" street tires with a 6.0. I can do one in first gear but I'm fairly certain I out gear you in 1st. Not sure why the SUVs seem so difficult to spin the tires, probably a combo of the 4 link suspension and lots of extra weight over the rear compared to the pickup trucks.
