which calculator are you using? the last one i used had me around 11.5ish static and 8.8 dcr. i'm not afraid of 8.8 on pump gas. my ls1 was around 8.7ish and ran great.

I edited it several times after getting a might confused...

"Assuming the LS2's factory SCR is 10.9:1"

You should be around a static compression of 11.25 with the 3.45 loss in cc from your head change (Also, assuming you are losing just a hair over .1 point in compression from fly-cutting your pistons)

Which will put your DCR @ 8.61 which IMO is still not optimal. I would prefer to have it under 8.4 personally.

If you retard the cam 4 degrees this will put you @ 8.3 for your DCR which is perfect for 93 pump gas.

This is using the calculators from Wallace Racing

i've had great luck running 8.5-8.7 in the past. my favorite combo was right at 8.7 and did great on 93. this is a weekend toy/track toy so i dont mind pushing it towards the edge. after toying with the calculator i'm on (forcing it to show 10.9:1 as a stock ls2) my numbers are in line with yours. thanks!

Depending on the piston deck height, I'm getting 11.1-11.4 for SCR and 8.5-8.7 for DCR.

Do you happen to know your piston deck height?

I didnt measure my engine (or i didnt write it down) but the generic number that GM uses is .007 out of the hole.

8.6-8.7x is perfect in my world. i didnt want to be forced into running e85 on the 8.95 that i originally thought i was at.

do you have the source for this? I've never seen a hard position one way or another.

The only stock block I ever measured was a 2000 LQ4 and the pistons were average 0.007" IN the hole.

Thanks!
