You didn't mill the block or heads, right?

What cam is it, and what-length pushrods do you have?

ok, i think i just got a little excited over nothing, it seems the lifters do take some time to push down, i was tighting another one where the valve was open and it looked like some coil bind was going on, then 30sec later it looked ok, seems they just take a little time to bleed down.

no milling, stock length pushrods, .40 gasket, 59x lift cam.

Here is how I installed the rockers: Rotate the crankshaft until the number one piston is at top dead center of the compression stroke. While the engine is in the number one firing position, tighten the exhaust valve rocker arm bolts 1,2,7, and 8 to (22 ft-lbs), tighten the intake rocker arm bolts 1,3,4 and 5 to (22 ft-lbs). Next rotate the crankshaft 360 degrees. Tighten the exhaust valve rocker arm bolts 3,4,5, and 6 to (22 ft-lbs), tighten the intake valve rocker arm bolts 2,6,7 and 8 to (22 ft-lbs). This is the instruction I got with the SLP 1.85 roker arms.

cometic. i want to give seth at cmotorsports a thank you on that one too. my order didn't show up on time because of some kind of head gasket back order so he just tossed in the cometic's for FREE! aren't those prety expensive?

the cam is for the turbo'd heads and cam 409 i dream of some day, not sure how it will run in a stock 6.0.

comp cams, 234/232 598/595 the card also says HR115+1 and it says "specs are for a cam instaled @ 114 intake center line", soo what do all those last numbers mean?

Yeah, you could say cometics are expensive. I priced them at $130 each. That's why a lot of internet sites it says, "call for price".

cometics are expensive like ben said but are some of the best you can buy. the last numbers are HR is the kind of lobe and of coarse the 115 is the lsa and the + 1 is one degree advanced ground in. so i believe you should install it normal strate up dot to dot.

you better get you ome damn good springs

Parish8 I know EXACTLY what you are talking about! It happened to me for the first time when I got new heads. I thought they milled the rocker bosses for people that use big cams (smaller base circles). But it turns out the lifters did just take a while to push up. It did this for the first time to me when I did heads and I thought it was strange because it never happened to me the four times before that when I had the rockers off. Maybe it is thick oil from cold weather that caused it to take so long??? who knows, but it all works well.
