Default Help with 99 blazer!

As most of you know, my poor wrecked truck is still in the body shop . So right now to stay busy, I want to hook up my 99 blazer some. It has the 4.3,auto 4L60E,4X4,3.42 gears, and a 2400 stall. So far I've installed :

3" flowmaster exhaust
descreened MAF
K/N filter

So far thats it, but when I took the intake off I noticed the throttle body butterfly has a restricter on the back of it. Should I take that restrictive POS off? Would it mess up the air fuel? Also thinking about a high flow cat.(want this one street legal, unlike the beast.)

Know dont get me wrong, I know it will never be as fast as the beast, But more power is always better. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.
