Default !!Help!! 4x4 broken??

Today when I left my house I noticed that the little light was not on indicating 4x4 is engaged(i have the autotrac). Sure enough 4x4 doesn't work. It is like the little panel is dead becuase it doesn't matter which button you push: Auto, 4x4, 2wd, 4Lo. They are all dead!

Anyone know if this is a quick fix like a fuse? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone..

Those 4x4 selector switches are known for going out. Not sure why, but lots of them have been replaced. I think it it were a big issue with the 4wd system, you'd see a "service 4wd" light on your dash cluster. My money is on the stupid little switch. I had mine replaced on my 99 Z71.

must be a problem with '99's because mine does the same thing once in a while. the 4 LO light sometimes flashes and wants to engage. 4HI sometimes won't work, 4 LO will light up instead. in auto 4WD, it won't switch back to 2 HI. i got it all. and my guess is definitely the switch

I called the local dealer and they set a switch aside for me. I am going to swap the old one out later tonight. Hopefully, this will fix the problem. 2 wheel drive, a supercharger, and slick roads don't mix well. $39.08 for the switch.
