Help with 2003 Silverado 1500 4.8 vs 5.3

5.3, for real man. My best bud has the 4.8 in his GMC and it runs good with a good exhaust system but I still smoked him with a 5.3 with Volant Cold Air Intake. As far as durability and getting you from A to B, they are both perfect. If you want to try and burn some hemi's though...well...you know...Thanks and gig'em!

The 4.8 is just as reliabile, but my vote is for the 5.3!

I have the 4.8 and have done many things to it, but trust me you always want more. I'm very happy with my 4.8 and it's the truck I wanted. So don't let just the motor decide your truck. If you really like the truck and it's a good deal the 4.8 is not bad, but a 5.3 would be better!

You can always do any engine swap later.
