health of lq4
#1
I have a lq4 in my truck with about 100,000 miles
It runs about 180 degrees....in Florida.....when hot 40 to 45 oil psi while idling and under load 60 to 65 psi...maybe 58 when in 6th gear....
It is stock...I have a 150 shot on it....dont spray it much....
It is just a driver and tow vehicle for my chevelle....but it does have a tune on the computer from Speartech and has longtubes....
I was think of shaving the heads a little to bump up to 10 to 1 and install one of those extreme truck cams from Comp....nothing much....shifting at 5500 and less....
Think a cam swap is only needed?
Just looking to bump up the power a little....

100 grand on an LSx engine aint nothin! If it was properly maintained.
I tore the heads off of my 183,000 mi 5.3 and the cylinders still had cross hatching!
Send Zippy a PM, he knows some great tricks with the 6.0s and knows what head modifications would be beneficial to you.
