headers install went wrong

i would remove the column cover under the dash and see if something came unplugged. i have removed the shaft under the hood at the joint and spun mine around with no proble. but if you shoved the column to far in it might have just unplugged something. remove that cover and check. if not the the airbag will have to be removed and or the column covers to see inside.

i am trying to pull off the plastic cover where your knees go and i got the two screws out of the the bottom but i dont know how to pull it off...which way do i pull? i dont want to break any clips

i think i'm just gonna take it to the dealer tomorrow. i'll keep you guys posted...i dont think i'm capable of fixing this

Air bag clock springs don't rotate more than 3 full turns in each direction from center position.New clock spring comes on center with plastic pin to pull before installation with wheels and steering centered.Only fix is replacement.

remove lower column cover
upper dash bezel
upper and lower covers behind steering wheel
to remove air bag there are bolts behind steering wheel
take steering wheel nut off and remove wheel with wheels and steering centered
now you will see clock spring

The part you are looking for looks similar to this, but with more conductors. It's called a "SIR coil".
(Do not use the part number from this one - it is totally wrong for your truck.)

dealer fixed under warranty and apologized for such a troublesome and rare problem. needless to say i was a veerrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyy happy camper. he didnt even comment about my headers or intake or anything aftermarket. great guy and great service. ****, i thought i was gonna have to drop 500, but that makes me a believer in gm

ps. they replaced the airbag coil for airbag light and clock springs for the steering controls

i looked up p/n on gmpartsdirect and its like 290 for airbag thing
