$699 for crimp bends, and that flange? At that price, it should have had a ceramic coating, and better craftsmanship.

Looks like you were taken to the cleaners Hopefully you can get some sort of resolution.

We are building another set of headers for you as I type to resolve the problem you had. The headers you received were built with the wrong collector. The new set will be built with the 3" collector as you requested. We will also include a loose 02 bung as you requested. The o2 bung was not on your order, and you were not charged for it, but we will include it no charge along with a plug.

The header flange surface was not done incorrectly. Since the GM high Tech article, we surface the flange then run another fuse bead (no filler) around the port to "pretty up" the weld. If you compare the GM High Tech picture to the set we sent you, the set we sent you is cleaner and the port is rounder (is that a word?). Most customers we have spoken to want the fused look.

We want to do everything we can to make you and other customers satisfied with our products. We are putting your order ahead of the 4 week backlog of work we have to help in any way that we can-and admittedly, the collector being sized incorrectly was our fault-no question. The headers will ship out for you by tomorrow at latest, and we will issue a call tag for the incorrect set of headers.

Lastly, if you or other customers ever have an issue with a product they purchase from us-contact us! If you would have contacted us ASAP before posting on the boards-(we recived your voicemail this morning-we close at 4:30 EST and your voicemail was at 4:45 yesterday), we would have built a set for you and possibly gotten them out yesterday! I always contact the manufacturer and give them an opportunity to make things right before ripping them apart publicly.

Thanks and let me know if you need anything. Our phone number is 800-878-3635. Call us if you need anything else or have any questions.

Thanks
Al Noe

Thanks Al.

I just got off the phone with Al from Stainless Works. As stated above, they have a good reputation, and for good reason. It was very nice to recieve a direct phone call with resolution in mind.
Beyond the incorrect collector size,
I'm pleased to say that Stainless Works is standing behind thier product 100%. Since the GMHTP article, the header flange finish has been changed for the better with the addition of the TIG welds, so the comparison I made was not an apples to apples affair.

I sincerely appreciate all the support I recieve from all LS1Tech Truck members here and look forward to recieving the next set of headers.

Sometimes the best or worst attributes of a Company come to light in the midst of an error, Stanless Works has proven to me that customer service still means something to them and that they are committed to thier product.
I don't know what better compliment I can pay to them.

I will post pics and my thoughts when the new set arrive if anyone is interested.

Regards
Devin (aka grippy )

I would like to address this directly. I responded as I always have, with honesty and integrity. I will continue to do so to best of my knowledge and abilities.

Sounds like a happy ending is on it's way.

BTW I didn't get the impression that anyone was out to slam anyone else. Sounded like a fair discussion to me and that Stainless Works was given a fair opportunity to clear up any misunderstandings that arose. Al Noe seems to have done a good job of expaining his company's policy and clearing up any misunderstandings. It appears that their customer service is very responsive and supportive. Here's to Al and Stainless Works.

Good luck with the headers Grippy and if you listen to Flyer you should get them coated to remove heat from the engine compartment and get the O2 sensors up to temp faster. The stainless does not seem to present quite the problem that mild steel seems to but probably still a good idea for a guy who is as thorough as you are. No worries mate.

Thanks Bro! I fully intend to get them coated, I may even coat the exhaust back to the CatBack, we will see

I am definetly an "attention to detail" kind of guy, thanks for the kind words
