Ok, So I want to get some new headers. I am currently running the Edlebrock hearders and I HATE them. What is everyone running, and why do you like them? I am in California, so I would like to stay within the smog laws...
Thanks!

I have the first ones that came out, and they hit the steering on hard launches. Plus they are rusty as hell, I want jet hot coated headers so they will look nicer. I have spent too much money under the hood, and these headers look like crap!

you know mine did the same thing. called edelbrock to complain. apparently there are a couple of 4.8's, and 5.3's out there that the stearing shaft is slightly alittle closer to the engine than most. they corrected this problem and sent me a new header. looks different than the first one.

Yeah I heard that, but I have had these since 2000, so I think they will tell me to take a hike! I want to change them anyhow more or less for looks. Some may think I am crazy..........

i have the arizona speed and marine headers and I love them. I got them as soon as they came out so that was a couple years ago and they are LT and smog legal in all states and they still look good but a little dirty but that will happen when you blow the motor and have all kinds of fluids spraying onto it.

If you want smog legal in California your selection is pretty limited.I don't think ASM or FLP headers have a CARB exemption, although both have provisions for smog controls either one would be a good choice.Do Thorley headers have a CARB exemption?

not an answer to what your asking however, how did you like the edelbrock overall, i ordered some for my uncles dodge. jet hot is right down the road from us, since they rusted do you think we need to get them coated, providing performance was ok. otherwise should we scrap'em and order something new? keep in mind, this is goin on a dodge....5.2L at that.

ASM's are coated while FLP's are stainless steel. ASM's require welding while FLP's are bolt-on. ASM's are cheaper & FLP's are $$$$ but come w/ h-flow cats. Both seem to do alot for performance.

had my edel's for about a year have not notice any rusting. hey blownchevy do you live by the coast. if so do you go to the beach? might be causing the rusting problem. i live 3.4 miles from the bay. on the texas coast and the salty air does murder on cars and trucks here. atleast every couple of weeks i spray down and clean the engine compartment with fresh water. just to be on the safe side.
