headers

I know you guys on here are all into traditional headers and you all like the pacesetters and obx's and then there are the new lpp's but i found these and would like to know what you think. They are tri-y headers made by clear image automotive and they use all ball/socket flanges for a complete bolt on install and are available in 1 5/8 or 1 3/4 primarys and have 3/8 thick flanges and are 14guage tubing. I guess what I want to know is what the pros and cons to both styles is.

Tri-Y headers like the ones you posted are traditionally better for low to midrange while conventional longtubes free up more power in the upper RPM's. Theoretically, for a truck that craves low end torque, a tri-y header would be better suited.

$1300 for coated mild steel with cats-id rather have dynatechs.
$1000 for uncoated mild steel catless-id rather have dynatechs.
you could buy LPP's and a cam and be better off...

yeah i wasnt really concerned with the price comparisson. more or less concerned with the design and the function, it seems like its not a bad style, its been used by dougthorleys for ever and was wondering why i dont see more of them seeing as how we are modding trucks, even though i say modding its more like trying to turn trucks into race cars...

I have to agree with the others who have posted. You should have good low end torque, just what you need for a daily driven truck, but the price does seem a bit high for the product. The Tri-Y header is a proven design that just never seemed to catch on. I would like to see some dyno numbers with this header.
