Default header temps?

I was wondering if anyone knew about how hot the headers get. I have a 5.3 and am putting pacesetter LTs. I am wraping the headers with some fiberglass 1000 degree tape (just like exhaust wrap) to keep the temp down under the hood. I have hundred foot roles of this stuff at work they I get for free. Just was wondering hot they get if anyone knows.

From my understanding headerwrap really isnt made for a daily driver.
If you use it on a steel header then the metal will tend to corroide faster than normal. The wrap tends to trap moisture.
The better route is to spend the extra money on a ceramic coated or other coated header. That will also keep down the heat as well as look alot nicer.

The temp should be well under 1000*F though...maybe 500-800?? depending on your driving/towing ect ect
