get a sawzall and cut the stock y-pipe out if you are putting a ORY on. that way you wont have to remove the tranny crossmember. get 2 3"-3.5" band clamps. they will connect the headers to the ORY and that way you can remove the exhaust easily if you have too later. have a friend help you so he can hand you the headers from under the truck and you can arrange them where they need to be. and before you remove the old manifolds, take out the oil dipstick first and than the oil dipstick tube. it will just pop out from the pan. i removed the tube w/ the stick still in and when i went to put it back in, the stick must have gotten hung up on some internals and it was causing a slapping sound. it took a while to figure out what it was. oh and if your friend is kind enough to help you unbolt the stockers and bolt the new headers on, make sure you get on the passenger side first. they are alot easier to get to than on the drivers side.

no special tools. i think i used a 15mm, 13mm, spark plug socket and wratchet extention and an adjustable wrench in one or two spots. probably on the o2 sensors. if you have air tools than it will go by 4x as fast. are you going to weld up the y pipe or just use the stocker? a vette servo install is pretty simple and will be even easier with the y pipe removed, so doing it when you do your headers will be a good time. i think there is a link to a write up in the powertrain section of the forums. no special tools for the servo install either.
