i will be installing my headers this weekend and im scared im going to break a bolt. the truck is a 2006 with under 19K miles so it shouldnt be too bad right?

 

Right just becareful..

 

Spray all the bolts down with pentrating lube. This will make your life alot easier.

 

I just put headers on my 05 and the header bolts where not tight at all, spray them with some PB blaster and with the wrench just be smooth and steady when brakeing them loose. You will be fine, nothing to worry about.

2 weeks ago I installed headers on my 99 with 105k miles. No broken head bolts. Except I found out that 2 had already been broken lol. Lucky for me I have new heads on their way to me right now

 

Soak em down a bit before, keep a torch handy if you need. 19k you shouldnt have a prob.

 

And be sure to put some anti-seize compound on the bolts before they go back in. Then you won't have to worry about breaking bolts the next time.

 

Also, use a torque wrench when putting them back in. Search will get you the right specs, somewhere between 18 and 22 ft/lbs.
