Default Header A.I.R.

What does it mean on headers W/ A.I.R. or W/O A.I.R. how do you know if you have A.I.R. or not. Does it mean you have a smog pump if so I havent seen a 5.3L with A.I.R. so why would they put that on there?

Yep, it's a smog pump. If you have AIR, there is a stainless mesh covered tube hooked up on each of you exahust manifolds, my California truck came with it. Why is it there, emissions.

The AIR is different from the EGR, the EGR is one pipe that goes into the intake manifold just behind the TB on the passenger side. There are two AIR tubes, one in each exhaust manifold and the pump is on the passenger side up by the hood hinge. I was wrong about the pipes having a mesh cover, mine don't. Sounds like you may not have it, not all states require it.
