I am having a little trouble finding head gaskets for my 2003 6.0. So for you guys that have a 0.030 over 6.0 Please chime in!... I bought the Fel Pro head gaskets FEL-9199PT and that was before I changed my mind and went 0.030 over and forged pistons. Those gaskets were very close to the bore size and it being 0.030 over I am pretty sure that they will not work. So if anyone has bored out there blocks what gaskets did you use ,thickness, and gasket bore? Any part numbers will be very helpful. Thanks in advance

well, i a .030 over 6.o is a 4.030 bore. Id get a set that is +.010 to+ .030 of the bore. so a max gasket of 4.060. call cometic

The stock MLS will work up to a .040". The 9199PT will work also - I used them on my 408 when I had o-ring'd heads.

 

When I set the Fel pro's on the motor ,the bore size was a perfect match to the bore on the head gasket. So going 0.030 over the gasket would hang over the bore? It looks like the gasket would be too small for the bore once the cylinder was boed out? It drove me nuts to see that. WTF? I wish I had took some pics to show you what I was seeing so you don't think I'm crazy. Oh well I already ordered the Cometic gaskets for piece of mind. I'm over budget a couple grand on this damn truck anyway oh well it's only money right. lol
