Head Change

I have a 2000 2500HD With a 6.0L with steel heads. What casting# aluminum head would be a good swap. The reason for thinking of changing heads is the Intake guides are leaking oil.

317 casting or 243/799 casting would bump compression

Do those head come on a 5.3L ?

They do on 07+ trucks

the 99-06 5.3 heads are 823

243 and 799 come on 07 and up 4.8/5.3s
317s came on 01 to 06 6.0s
