would it be better to have my stock 5.3L heads ported and polished or just get a completely different head?
i dont want to raise my compression ratio and i havent really looked into this too much but i know im going to need something that flows better than what i have for my turbos. thanks in advance.

For boost you want a lower compression ratio. LS6 heads might be a good choice but they are expensive. You could probably get by using stock LS6 heads and no porting. Or LS1 heads ported and matched to the correct CR you are shooting for.

I would go with some 5.7 LS1 heads. They have larger combustion chambers, so they should lower your compression a little bit, and I know that there are lots of guys with trans am's out there that would be more than happy to trade. I have a friend that might. Not to mention that you can find some that are very well ported and polished already. That is just my opinion though.
