Default HD Aluminum Driveshaft Installed!

Man, Denny's makes a good freakin driveshaft. This thing looks awesome, is light weight, and now the 70 to 80 shake that I used to get is gone. It also seems that some other shakes are gone too. Great looking welds, and heavy duty parts!

I just got it yesterday and installed it. All together everthing cost me about $630 for fluid the driveshaft a new pinion yoke and a inch pound torque wrench rental. Funny thing since now I did this, the high speed noise I used to get from my rear end since the gear install, is completely gone. Makes me wonder if the driveline shop installed everything OK. Well they do warrenty it.

I did some hard launches, and drove it up to 120 a couple of times, and then shifted back and forth from 3rd to 4th, by flooring it, then letting off, then flooring it. It worked great. Denny's garunteed me that this driveshaft should be able to easily handle up to the 500hp that I am working towards. I give it a definate thumbs up for those looking to strengthen their driveline, and consider it a must if you do a gear swap to 4.10s or higher.

Oh yeah, no damage had occured to the tranny or the rear end when the driveshaft blew. I wasn't sure until I had the driveshaft installed that the transmission was ok. Man was I lucky!

Glad everything worked out!

Did the truck seem the same/faster/slower after the install?

Felt like it actually pulled a little harder up to the shift point!

They have a nitrous ready driveshaft for cheaper, and stronger but since our driveshafts are so freakin long, they loose the high speed stability, and can't be made to handle hardly any more rpms than the stock one. Denny's told me that I would just blow up even a nitrous ready one, and with the added beefed up parts would run a greater risk to doing damage to the truck. They told me that with the aluminum it would handle up to about 600hp, and would be able to withstand 7000rpms without blowing. That equals about 165mph in 4th with our trucks, and I dought my truck will ever be that fast.
