Default Have A Tranny Question!!!!!!!!!

my friend had his 4L60E rebuilt a while back. well come to find out they replaced it with a 700R4E with 4L60E internals. well he keeps blowing the tranny. with haveing the 700R4E case and haveing the 4L60E internals, would that be a problem??? cause since he has had it rebuilt he has gone through 9 rebuilds. the tranny is in a 2000 scsb 4.8L. any info would be great!!!

You shouldn't publicly discuss your sexual preferences like this! Sorry, I couldn't resist!

THe 4L60 E is a updated 700R4 and either one is just as strong when properly rebuilt and a lot of the parts will interchange. This is not a problem even if it did in fact happen. (the 4L80 is basically a THM400 with a OD added and the THM350 > 700R4 > 4L60 are all related too)

THe case and the valve body are different between the 700 and the 60e. Their should be an LS1 based 60e behind that motor!

Since part of the valve body is in the case ... the case needs to be the same thing.

The 4L60E is more electronically control than the 700R4 so the valve body is different but the basic design and theoritical power capacity is the same between their basic designs and a lot of internal part will interchange too.
