Default Have simple ? about LT's, ORY and cutout

Guys, 01 5.3 4x4 here. I want to buy pacesetter long tube headers, an off road y pipe to delete cats, and a cutout. preferably electric.

1. I keep reading about 3" piping and cutouts, do i need all that? What size is the collector on the pacesetter LT? i need to know so i dont buy one size lt, then another y pipe and another size cutout.
2. Do the cutouts weld in before the y pipe or is there a way to use only one cutout after the y-pipe?
3. What is the best cutout for what i want when youre on a budget?
4. Please explain to me how all this works. the headers collect into the y-pipe, and the cutout goes after the y, then that welds to more pipe that welds to the muffler?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have searched and read and learned a good bit but still need a lil more help.

1.collector is 3", just get the pacesetter offroad Y and it bolts up perfect.
2.Get a 3" cutout, only need one, and it goes behind the y pipe.
3.I have a QTP but others have had problems with it, so DMH is good, but summit racing brand is probably the cheapest besides the ebay ones. A non electric is the absolute cheapest but then you have to crawl under the truck to open it. Get a 3" cutout by the way.
4.goes exactly like that.

1. If you go with these they are 3" collectors and 3" Y.
* PaceSetter LS1 Truck Long Tube Headers Coated 4wd/2wd (99-07) [72C2265]

* PaceSetter LS1 Truck Off Road Y-Pipe 4wd/2wd (99-07) [82-1176]

2. You could mount the cut out right behind the Y pipe and before the pipe going to the muffler. Just make sure you order a 3" Flowtech Race Ready or = with what ever cut out you go with.

3. I would suggest a 3" set up from DMH. There are cheaper ones out there but i have read a lot of good things about the DMH electric cut outs and Flowtech.

4. Yup, header than Y pipe, than the sky is the limit from there. Unless you are looking at a true duel system and go with 2 cut outs after the LT's and before the muffler.

Make sure you get it tuned after to delete the rear O2's with cats out and you should be good to go from there.

checked your link, and ended up buying the Y-pipe first. Yes i know its kinda backwards, but I didnt wanna jump on the $350 for the headers just yet, so I got the ORY. Cost me $170 shipped.

I figure this is a step in the right direction and hope to purchase the headers within two weeks...anyone know a good site to buy the DMH cutout from?

BTW, I had heard that the c-clamps are junk from pacesetter, and there was another place to buy a better kind of clamp? Anyone know what I speak of?

You are speaking of band clamps...I have bought them from Summit Racing, there are a few different styles I believe, the regular around the outside ones, lap joint clamps, and butt joint clamps...
