Unhappy Have a bad problem here!!

I took the truck to Futral today to get it dynoed and tuned. Well, the truck is making horibbly low power. I dont even want to say what it did, but it is alot less than what it made with the stock 6.0.
Here is what is going on.......
1. saw 15psi boost with same pully that only made 8-9 on other engine. No detonation or knock.
2. This cams power(224/230 581/592 114lsa) Peaked and tapered out slightly less than the stock cam
We talked about possible causes for this. It looks like the cam was installed incorrectly. Off a couple of teeth or somthing. Must have the valve timing all
screwed up. The high boost is an indication of a restriction, and since it didnt detonate it must be backing up in the manifold. I ended up leaving the truck with Allan to look into it. Hopefully it will be as easy as pulling the front cover and getting the cam set right. I know I have left my truck in very good hands

That sucks. If you know, could you explain as to why the cam being installed incorrectly caused this? Does it have to do with incorrect timing of the valves opening and closing? I would have thought to look for an exhaust restriction first.

Incorrect timing of the valves is what it may be. The 15psi of boost I think is only building in the manifold and not even getting into the cylinder. If 15psi made into the cylinder it would detonate like crazy with no intercooler. I think the incorrect valve timnig is letting enough air in/out to run but not really work with boost or make power. I'm no expert on any of this. I'm just sitting here racking my brains for possible causes. Once allan gets it apart and checked I will know for sure if it's that or if it's somthing else. I dont see how it could be anything else. Exhaust and everything is the same as the last time we dynoed it and pulled 442rwhp.

i agree that you left the truck in good hands. i am sure he will nail the problem for ya. hopefully it is that one problem and not a series of them. hopefully you can get it all taken care of and lay some nice numbers down.

One thing that has me nervous is I paid a very reputable shop to build this engine, so it is unlikely the cam is not correct.
Any ideas on other possible causes???
What else could cause this huge increase in boost, make no power, yet
the engine runs and drives normal(no missfires, and such)
Very strange thing I have going on here.

maybe some bent pushrods from an over rev at one time? causing the exhaust valves not to open all the way maybe???
