Default Hauling an 6.0L engine home ?

I hope you guys don't mind me posting in this section. I need to build a support of some type on a pallet to haul my LQ4 6.0 short block back to the house. Can someone tell me the width of the pan near the pan rail and how deep the pan is from the pan rail to the sump? I believe I will need to cut the support short on the oil filter side of the engine could someone give me a distance from the front of the oil pan to the oil filter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Mike

...or just pick the engine up and hold it on your lap while you drive

Turns out this is one of those situations where the seemingly more complicated way is actually easier. I don't have an old unmounted tire,I do have a pallet with a box built on it already and a 2"x8"x8' waiting to be cut to act as the rails to support the oil pan rail. The trip home will be almost 300mi. and I would like to just drop it in place and forget about it until I get back. Thanks for the suggestions though.

Old tire. Ratchet straps. Garbadge bags and duct tape if it rains.
