Default hard 1-2 shift(hd-2 trans-go)

01 5.3l gmc 4x4 ecsb.i had a hd-2 trans-go shift kit installed along with a vett servo.the 1-2 shift seems quite hard.at 3/8 throttle or so it chirps the tire, all the other shifts are really nice.if i remove the servo will it soften the 1-2 shift without affecting the other shifts?also with the shift kit when towing(8000lbs trailer)should i still use the tow-haul?ps-it hits really hard when in tow-haul.thanks for any help.

I'm not a trans guy bit I thought the harder, the better. Doesn't the 1-2 always shift the firmest?

i guess thats what they say,but it really is not that comfortable when the 1-2 hits that hard,it's my daily driver.i don't mind it a bit firm but this is quit stiff.

how many washers?

Its easier to take some out if you have any in it
Id leave the vette servo alone

too hard can hurt it also

If you had HPTuners, you could adjust the line pressure. I put a Corvette servo
in mine and it would bark tires shifting 1-2. I backed off some line pressure in normal mode but left Tow/Haul mode alone. Some people like super hard shifts
all the time but I don't.

how bout your tuning
Transgo should be run at stock line pressure
If you dont have tuning this shouldnt be a problem

How big did you drill the 1-2 in the seperator plate

before I changed out the vette servo
I would order a new seperator plate
and not drill the 1-2 but drill the rest .093

i have no tuning ,so the pressure is also stock.i had a tranny shop install it and he said he would do it by the instructions.i did see 2 drill bits in the box but i didn't check the size of them, but they should be right.

more apply area for the fluid
so it can squeeze the band harder
therefore making harder shifts

If Im thinking correctly
the kit is not designed to work with the vette servo

before I put my stall in
the 1-2 was way too hard for me
same setup as yours
except not drilling the 1-2

so maybe putting the stock servo back in may be your best bet
its a pain in the *** though
but will soften it up somewhat
